Terraria is a fun role playing game with singleplayer and multiplayer (online). It has a well builded sandbox feature. Some people say this game look like Minecraft, this is because both have have some alike features.
Build whatever you want. You have a huge world in your hands. Every block you destroy, every tree you chop down, every mineral you mine, goes to your inventory. With those blocks, you can build almost anything you can imagine! Be creative!
Kill them all! The world is infested by enemies, this gives more fun to the pace of the game. In the middle of the crappy night, you must take refuge from the brain-eater zombies, who will do all they have in their hands to reach you. You will be able too, to defeat huge and powerful summoned bosses with nice rewards.
Crafting! It will be one of the most important task you will must do to get the best equipment, you will create it by yourself, when you have all the required materials. If you don't know what do you need to do X or Y and don't want to go throught tedious guides, you can always talk with the Guide npc, to give you some advice about what you can craft.
Explore the world! From heaven to hell
From floating islands to hell. You can discover interesting and misterious places like dungeons with secret treasures. Everything is randomly placed!
There is too, the corruption, the jungle, the desert and other places that are going to be added soon.

Random events! Sometimes, strange things will happen. Like the goblins invasion, a big army of mage, archer and warrior goblins will come and you should defend your town from them!
Never alone, not even in singleplayer. There will be a few NPCs at your service, helping you with resources and some advices. By the way, the game has an excellent online mode, the maps can be hosted by players, and wait others to join in

GraphicsIt's a 2D game, I like them, but if you don't like this kind of graphics, probably this will determine you
Music
Sometimes it's repetitive, but it's well chosen and gives the place some atmosphere
Lenght
The game has no end! The only limit is your imagination
Fun
Singleplayer sometimes goes boring, but multiplayer mode solves this
